Recreation & Parks

The Recreation and Parks Master Plan update was a community-driven process in 2022 with input via in-person and virtual focus groups, key stakeholder interviews, public meetings, analysis survey, community online open survey, and Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee meetings.

In setting Recreation and Parks as a strategic initiative, Council combined a number of on-going projects. The cohesive thread between the initiatives under the Recreation and Parks priority is that they have a positive impact on the quality of life for Johns Creek residents. Major 2023 goals include the finalization of the Recreation and Parks Master Plan, determining initial implementation projects from the Plan, adding a Farmer’s Market to the special event and programming lineup, completing and celebrating the construction of Cauley Creek Park, expanding partnerships in support of youth sports programming, continuing the build-out of the City’s sidewalk and trail network, finalizing the conceptual master plans for the re-use of the Water Reclamation Facility at Cauley Creek Park as a maker space and robotics with elements of STEM/STEAM playground and the conceptual master plan for outparcel / event space on the River at Cauley Creek Park to finalize the use of the buildings (such as special event space).
