Following a deliberate, results-focused strategy in 2022, City Council focused on attracting life science, healthcare, innovation, and well-focused companies to the city. Last year, Boston Scientific announced a $62.5 million investment to build a state-of-the-art research and logistics facility in Tech Park, and there were significant efforts made to promote, market, and activate Town Center.
Council also reached consensus to maintain Economic Development as a priority for 2023 with continued focus on bio/life science, healthcare, innovation, and wellness-focused companies as target industries for additions to Johns Creek. Although significant projects in 2023 will happen in and around Town Center, Council recognized it as a separate priority from Town Center as its impact and initiatives stretch beyond those boundaries. For example, in 2023 the City will advance a Revitalization Plan for Medlock Bridge at State Bridge and strengthen partnerships with businesses across the City through retention and expansion meetings while promoting, marketing, and activating the City as the place for business.
