*Note:

• This project is part of the Medlock Bridge Intersection Improvements project which will include improvements at five intersections and three pedestrian connectivity projects. These improvements along Medlock Bridge Road will alleviate traffic congestion and improve pedestrian connectivity.
  • Intersections include:
    • Medlock Bridge Road at Abbotts Bridge Road / State Route 120
    • Medlock Bridge Road at Bell Road
    • Medlock Bridge Road at Johns Creek Parkway (including sidewalk from Bell Road to Johns Creek Parkway)
    • Medlock Bridge Road at McGinnis Ferry Road
    • Medlock Bridge Road at Skyway Drive
    • Medlock Bridge Road Trail (Johns Creek Parkway to McGinnis Ferry Road)

Current Issues:

• Traffic congestion along Medlock Bridge Road; critical intersection.

Proposed Solution:

• Add capacity to the intersection by restriping Medlock Bridge northbound to three thru lanes allowing more cars to cross Bell in each light cycle. 
• Medlock Bridge southbound could restripe the right turn lane into a thru-right lane.
• Project cost: $800,000 (2021 estimate).
• *Note: Improvements to Bell Road were made as part of the city's Bell Road and Medlock Bridge intersection improvement project completed in March 2021.
