The City’s GIS (Geographic Information Systems) team is tasked with curating data from across City departments to help guide major decisions and improve service delivery.   Most often this means making maps or interactive dashboards that help show where things are happening in the City.  Other times it means using data about past issues to predict where issues will arise in the future.  GIS also uses data to create innovative tools for the public like the DataHub open data portal, “Ask Johns Creek” Alexa skill, automated call center, augmented reality mapping application for the swiftwater rescue team, and more.
