As of Sept. 1, Forsyth County recycling centers are available for Johns Creek residents to drop off recyclables and trash.
The City has begun a 90-day pilot program with Forsyth County so Johns Creek residents have more easily accessible recycling and solid waste options. Most items are free to recycle, with some specialized items recycled at a small fee. Residents can also bring trash to the centers at a small fee.
Currently, Johns Creek residents can bring recyclables to
Keep North Fulton Beautiful’s location in Sandy Springs. Forsyth County recycling centers provide a northern option for recycling drop-offs.
Forsyth County recycling centers are located:
Coal Mountain Center, 3560 Settingdown Road, Cumming; 770-781-2071
*Old Atlanta Center, 3678 Old Atlanta Road, Suwanee; 770-205-3010 (*closest proximity to Johns Creek)
Tolbert Street Center, 351 Tolbert Street, Cumming; 770-781-2176
By partnering with Forsyth County, the City continues to expand its recycling resources for the community. In October 2022, Johns Creek installed a glass recycling drop off container at Ocee Park (10900 Buice Road). The high usage rate of the container, combined with positive feedback from the community, affirms residents’ strong desire to recycle and that the drop-off model is an effective bridge to providing accessible recycling services.
Following the 90-day period, Johns Creek and Forsyth County will review the results of the pilot program to determine the feasibility of a long-term partnership for recycling services.
