Calling experienced artists! The City of Johns Creek and Fulton County Arts & Culture invite experienced professional artists or artist teams (i.e. more than one artist or artist and fabricator) to submit qualifications to create an iconic and site-specific sculpture using steel recycled from the historic Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee River.
The bridge has been removed and dismantled and the
replacement project is currently underway. and the cities of Johns Creek and Duluth have each been provided with between five and seven tones of steel with sizes ranging from 8 feet to 20 feet in length. Although additional materials may be used, it is expected that most source materials used for the art will be derived from the original bridge materials.
Artists are encouraged to be inspired by the symbolism of the bridge connecting communities and linking the past, present, and future.
