Watch 'Raya and the Last Dragon' on Aug. 27

July 30, 2021

Enjoy a movie under the stars! August offers Johns Creek residents and visitors a variety of activities including the continuation of the popular Summer Movies at Newtown Park series.

On Friday, Aug. 27, “Raya and the Last Dragon,” (PG) will grace the screen at Newtown Park. Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. However, when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned, and it's up to a lone warrior to track down the last dragon and stop the Druun for good.

Movies at Newtown Park are free and include face painting, a bounce house, giveaways, music and more!  Food will be provided by the Fair on Wheels food truck and Kona Ice.

Movies at Newtown Park are free and include pre-show entertainment such as an inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children's activities, give-a-ways, and music. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. for those looking to save a spot, and the movie starts at sunset.

This event is rain or shine! In the case of rain, attendees are welcome to bring umbrellas. No pop-up tents, please. If we experience lightning or severe weather, we may delay the start of the movie or evacuate if necessary.

Please note: Dogs are NOT allowed at the event (with the exception of service animals).
