The Johns Creek Fire Department (JCFD) will unveil its newest fire truck on Thursday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Station #61, 10265 Medlock Bridge Parkway.
The 59-foot long Tractor Drawn Aerial ladder truck weighs more than 68,000 pounds and has a driver seat in the front and rear, making it highly maneuverable.
The truck is similar in capacity to the
JCFD fire engine unveiled in February but the new vehicle has the 100-foot vertical reach on the ladder.
JCFD will hold a “push-in” ceremony during the unveiling May 24, which is a tradition of fire department personnel moving the truck into the fire station.
The department currently has five engines and three aerial ladder trucks. The new aerial ladder will replace Truck 61 at the Medlock Bridge station.
The ladder truck cost $1.25 million.
