About the Amphitheater

The Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater provides a spacious venue for public and private events, including our popular Summer Concert Series.

It accommodates a wide-range of events and performances from rock bands, to symphony orchestras, to theater and the City’s Summer Concert Series. The space is also ideal for corporate events, parties, and receptions.

Amphitheater Base Rental Fee

The Amphitheater is available for rental. Please contact Recreation Manager Cara Prell at 678-512-3281.

The City of Johns Creek rents the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater to Johns Creek residents, Johns Creek non-profits (defined as those licensed in Johns Creek), and other Johns Creek organizations or businesses (defined as those licensed in Johns Creek) as follows:

  • Amphitheater: *$100/hour
    * = requires a 2-hour minimum rental

The City of Johns Creek rents the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater to non-residents (individuals), nonprofits (defined as those without a Johns Creek business license), organizations and businesses (defined as those without a Johns Creek business license) as follows:

  • Amphitheater: (individuals and non-profits)* $150/hour
  • Amphitheater:  (for-profit and commercial)* $200/hour
    * = requires a 2-hour minimum rental

Where is the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at Newtown Park located?

It is inside Newtown Park, which is near the intersection of Haynes Bridge Road and Old Alabama Road. The physical address is 3150 Old Alabama Road Johns Creek, GA 30022.

Where is parking located and what is the cost?

Free parking is located inside Newtown Park. Parking is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. We encourage you to carpool or walk to the park if you are able to do so.

Do I need a ticket to enter the amphitheater?

Each of our Summer Concerts are free and open to the public. Tickets are not needed to attend a Summer Concert event.

What time do the doors open for Summer Concerts?

Doors open at 6 p.m. Live music typically begins by 7 p.m.

How is seating determined?

Round tables (8 seats), under the covered pavilion can be reserved for $200. All other space is available on a first come, first serve basis. Please bring your own lawn chair, blanket, etc. Lawn seating is also available.

Are there handicap accessible seats?

Yes. Please notify a volunteer or staff member when you arrive and we will assist you.

May I bring food and beverage?

Yes, you may bring food and non-­‐alcoholic beverages to all concerts. Please note: The maximum allowable TV Tray is 23″ wide by 16″ deep. The maximum cooler size is 23″ wide by 16″ deep. You are not allowed to bring in your own alcohol. Please note that all carry-­‐in items are subject to inspection.

Are there concessions on site?

Yes, there are concession tents that offer food, wine by the glass, beer, soft drinks, bottled water, juices and much more. Food trucks will also be on site for food purchases.

What is allowed on the lawn?

Blankets and chairs are allowed on the lawn. Please limit your blanket to the size of a large beach towel.

May I smoke or use an electronic cigarette inside the amphitheater venue?

No. Smoking is prohibited in our parks.

Is drinking allowed outside the amphitheater?

No. Consuming alcohol is not allowed outside the amphitheater or in the parking lots.

What time do concerts typically conclude?

Length of concerts will vary by event. Concerts typically conclude before 10 p.m.

What happens if it rains?

All events take place Rain or Shine. While we prefer you bring a rain coat or poncho, small umbrellas are allowed.

May I bring in a table or TV tray?

TV tray sized tables are allowed. The maximum allowable size for TV trays is 23″ wide by 16″ deep.

What size coolers are allowed?

The maximum cooler size is 23″ wide by 16″ deep.

Are dogs allowed inside the venue

No. Pets are not allowed inside the Amphitheater, with the exception of service animals.
