Crews will begin construction in November on the installation of a half-mile long, 10-foot wide sidewalk including a pedestrian bridge along Brumbelow Road from Mackinac Drive to Stoney Ridge Drive.
The sidewalk installation fills a gap in connectivity, which will connect Nesbit Ferry Road to Old Alabama Road and Newtown Park. A pedestrian bridge will be added where the road crosses a narrow bridge that currently prevents pedestrians from traveling safely on this corridor.
The cost of the project is $996,013 and is expected to be completed in Spring 2018.
