The City of Johns Creek has approved funding for engineering and concept designs related to four Transportation Special Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) projects.
The four projects include:
- McGinnis Ferry Road widening from Union Hill to Sargent roads (a joint project with Forsyth County, Alpharetta, and Milton).
- State Bridge Road widening from Medlock Bridge Road (SR 141) to the Chattahoochee River (project aligns with a similar project by Gwinnett County).
- Barnwell Road intersection improvements at Holcomb Bridge Road.
- Bell Road / Boles Road Corridor operational and safety improvements.
The four projects are part of the
Tier 1 TPSLOST Project List, which contains 10 projects in total. The projects require a staged implementation based on the available funding. Construction timelines are yet to be determined.
Voters approved the TSPLOST referendum (0.75% increase in the existing sales tax) in November 2016. Johns Creek is projected to receive $82 million to fund local transportation projects throughout the next 5 years.
