High school art volunteers needed

April 06, 2018

TunnelCalling all high school artists! The Johns Creek Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is offering artists the opportunity to volunteer to help paint a mural inside the pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road (Ga. 141).  The tunnel spans under Medlock Bridge Road from the Johns Creek Village Shopping Center across to Panera Bread.

The CVB has partnered with Atlanta artist, William Massey, and Urban Catalyst Lab to bring Indian artist, Hanif Kuresh, to Johns Creek to design and ultimately paint the mural from April 10-21. It will be Kureshi’s first-ever work completed in the U.S.

Local high school artists are invited to participate in a group volunteer paint event with Massey and Kureshi on Tuesday, April 10 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The mural will be unveiled on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m., to coincide with the Johns Creek International Festival.
