Artists needed for tunnel mural project

April 02, 2018

TunnelCalling all artists! The Johns Creek Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is offering artists the opportunity to volunteer to help paint a mural inside the pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road (Ga. 141).  The tunnel spans under Medlock Bridge Road from the Johns Creek Village Shopping Center across to Panera Bread.

The CVB has partnered with Atlanta artist, William Massey, and Urban Catalyst Lab to bring Indian artist, Hanif Kureshi ,to Johns Creek to design and ultimately paint the mural from April 10-21. It will be Kureshi’s first-ever work completed in the U.S.

Local artists are invited to help paint the design, which will be projected onto the tunnel walls.  Priority will be given to volunteers who are available for one full day to assist the artist.

The mural will be unveiled on Saturday, April 21, to coincide with the Johns Creek International Festival.

For more information and to sign up to volunteer, please visit the CVB website.
