The City of Johns Creek is moving to a temporary City Hall
on Monday, Sept. 18, located at 10700 Abbotts Bridge Road, Suite 190.
There will be no disruption in City services during the move. City Hall will remain open for normal business hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, at the 12000 Findley Road location, and open at 8 a.m. at the new 10700 Abbotts Bridge Road location, Monday, Sept. 18. All City phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
City Council Work Session and Meetings for the remainder of September will still be held at the old City Hall located at 12000 Findley Road. Beginning Oct. 3, City Council and most public meetings will be held at the current Police Department and Municipal Court facility at 11445 Johns Creek Parkway until the new City Hall renovations are completed. The current lease for City Hall expires Sept. 30, 2017. The decision was made to move into a temporary facility with a less expensive lease while the new, permanent City Hall location is under renovation.
In February, the City purchased 7-acres and an existing 75,000 square foot office building
(with 340 parking spaces). The building and property, located at 11360 Lakefield Drive, will become the permanent location for a Johns Creek City Hall and Public Safety Complex.
The City currently leases space in two separate buildings. The move to a consolidated facility will ultimately save taxpayer funds and provide a building for City Hall, Police, Fire and Courts to more efficiently serve the citizens. The location also backs up onto a 20-acre linear public park the City will develop as early as 2018.
Renovations of the new City Hall facility are expected to take 12-18 months to be complete.
