Penguins of Madagascar save the world July 11 at Johns Creek Movies at Newtown Park

Movies at NewtownThe cool “Penguins of Madagascar” embark on some hot adventures July 11 as the second film in the Movies at Newtown Park summer series in Johns Creek.

The animated DreamWorks movie is about four penguins, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, as they join forces with undercover organization The North Wind to stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine from destroying the world.  The film is 92 minutes long and is rated PG.

In addition to the films, which are free, Movies at Newtown Park includes pre-show entertainment like inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children's activities, giveaways, music, food and drinks. Pre-show activities start about two hours before sundown.

The movies start at dusk and are shown on a large inflatable screen. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and relax as they watch the movie. No alcohol or pets please.

The movie titles will be announced a week prior to each event. Movies are rated G or PG. The 2015 Movies at Newtown Park series is being sponsored by Northside Hospital.

Newtown Park is located at 3150 Old Alabama Rd.

The final Movies at Newtown Park date is set for Aug. 8.
