City LEGO camp to encourage kids’ creativity, collaboration

LEGOsFire up the architect or engineer inside your youngsters by giving them tens of thousands of LEGOs during a new five-day LEGO Camp starting July 27 at the Newtown Park Community Clubhouse in Johns Creek.

Registration begins May 1 and runs through July 17.

Under the direction of Play-Well TEKnologies staff, the half-day camp targets youngsters 5-12 years old. The camps are designed to spark creativity and the exploration of basic engineering principles. Kids can build engineer-designed projects, such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars. 

The camp for kids 5-7 years old runs from 9 a.m. to noon, while camp for kids 8-12 runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Camp size is 11 to 24 children. Fees are $150 for Johns Creek residents, and $225 for non-residents.
