‘Big Hero 6’ wraps 2015 Johns Creek Movies at Newtown Park series on Aug. 8

Movies at the ParkLoad up a picnic basket, the kids and a blanket, and head to Movies at Newtown Park on the night of Aug. 8 to watch Hiro Himada, a 14-year-old robotics prodigy, and Baymax, an inflatable robot, take on a dastardly villain in the Academy Award-winning “Big Hero 6.”

The Disney film is about Hiro and Baymax as they and four nerdy friends form a superhero team to battle a villain who has stolen Hiro’s late brother’s invention. The 2014 film won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature and the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Animated Movie. The film is 102 minutes long and is rated PG.

In addition to the films, which are free, Movies at Newtown Park includes pre-show entertainment like inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children's activities, give-aways, music, food and drinks. Pre-show activities start at 7 p.m. The movie starts at dusk (about 9 p.m.)

The movies start at dusk and are shown on a large inflatable screen. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and relax as they watch the movie. No alcohol or pets please.

Movies are rated G or PG. The 2015 Movies at Newtown Park series is being sponsored by Northside Hospital.
