The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championships are returning to Johns Creek for the 10th year in a row, April 25-27, featuring a 15-game marathon with the region's top college clubs.
The tournament, now in its 27th year, features the top eight teams in Divisions I and II, and likely will include perennial powerhouses, like reigning Division I champion Georgia, as well as challengers Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Emory and Florida State.
The SELC is the largest club lacrosse conference in the nation with 40 teams from 10 states and Washington D.C. The top 16 are invited to the SELC tournament, where Division I and Division II champions receive an automatic bid to the National Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association Championships in Irvine, Calif.
Opening round games will be played April 25 in four locations: Northview High School in Johns Creek, Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, Greater Atlanta Christian High School in Norcross, and South Forsyth High School near Cumming. Semi-finals on April 26 and finals on April 27 will be at Northview High for the tenth consecutive year.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, SELC players and coaches will conduct youth clinics. The tournament also will have a silent auction of many team items. Proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Kids' activities include a shooting cage and obstacle course with prizes.
Five incoming SELC Hall of Fame inductees will be officially recognized at halftime of the Division I Championship at Northview High on April 27.
Tickets cost $5 for children and $10 for adults and are available at the gate. A three-day pass costs $20. Children wearing lacrosse jerseys are admitted free.
