Motorists driving north through the intersection of Medlock Bridge and McGinnis Ferry roads can expect delays starting Wednesday, June 4, as the Georgia Department of Transportation kicks off a construction project.
GDOT is extending the left-hand turn lane on northbound Medlock Bridge Road 300 feet. Construction is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays through June and possibly July.
The work will require lane closures and cause significant delays on northbound Medlock Bridge Road.
When completed, the lane extension will accommodate more vehicles turning left, which will also help through-traffic headed north.
