MLB 'Pitch, Hit & Run' Championship coming to Johns Creek April 26

Pitch Hit & RunJohns Creek youngsters can show off their baseball or softball skills April 26 at the Scotts-Miracle Gro Co. Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Ocee Park.

The free contest is open to all boys and girls from the age of 7 to 14. Champions in each category and age group from local competition advance to the Sectional Competition at a time and date to be announced. Winners advance to the Team Championship at a Major League Ballpark, and winners then go on to National Finals at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game in Minneapolis.

Boys and girls compete separately in four age groups (7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14) in three important aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting and running bases.

The All-Around Champion, Pitching Champion, Hitting Champion and Running Champion in each age group from each local competition advances to the Sectional Level.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the competition runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants must bring a copy of the player's birth certificate, and a completed registration/waiver form must be filled out at check-in.
