Korean VA Minister lays wreath at Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk

VeteransSongchoon Park, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for the Republic of Korea, toured the Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk on Dec. 13 and laid a wreath at the Korean War Memorial.

Minister Park was accompanied by U.S. Rep. Tom Price, Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker, Sgt. Richard Graham of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and Johns Creek Veterans Association President Wayne Kidd as he visited the Memorial Walk's 10 monument plazas dedicated to each of the major conflicts dating to World War I, Women in Service, POW-MIAs, and Purple Heart recipients.

A group of about 20 Korean veterans of the conflict and other members of the Korean community also attended the ceremony.

The Korean government sponsored the Korean War Plaza, and the Korean Consul General in Atlanta, Seong-jin Kim, spoke at the Veterans Memorial Walk Dedication and Official Flag-Raising ceremony on Nov. 7.
