After being rained out in August, "The LEGO Movie," the third movie in Johns Creek's Movies at Newtown Park free film series has been re-scheduled for Oct. 18.
In this PG-rated adventure, Emmet, an ordinary LEGO construction worker, is thought to be the "Special" and joins a quest to stop an evil tyrant from permanently gluing the LEGO universe, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously unprepared.
The movie was cancelled Aug. 9 because of severe thunderstorms. Movie-goers should note that re-scheduled pre-show activities will start at 5:00 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:15 p.m., earlier than regular summertime shows.
Movies at Newtown Park, now in its eighth year, is a series of three family-friendly films shown monthly on an inflatable screen in a picnic atmosphere at Newtown Park.
In addition to the films, Movies at Newtown Park includes pre-show entertainment like inflatable moonwalk, face-painting, children's activities, give-aways, music, food and drinks. The movies start at dusk. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and relax as they watch the movie. No alcohol or pets please. The movies are free.
Movies are rated G or PG. The 2014 Movies at Newtown Park series is being sponsored by Northside Hospital.
Newtown Park is located at 3150 Old Alabama Rd.
