Members of the Johns Creek Police Traffic Safety Unit, the Motors Officers are law enforcement motorcyclists. They receive advanced training in routine patrol safety, pursuits, and policing methods specifically related to all types of motor vehicles.
Primarily responsible for helping reduce vehicle accidents in the City of Johns Creek, the Motors Officers are also responsible for the investigation of: hit and run accidents, serious injuries, fatality wrecks, DUI enforcement, traffic complaints, speed surveys, coordination of traffic control for special events, and traffic law enforcement.

Motorcycles provide a crucial mobility to the work of the Traffic Safety Unit. They are more maneuverable on crowded streets than traditional patrol cars and are able to get to accident scenes more quickly. Motors Officers are frequently the first units to respond to vehicle accidents.
JCPD Motor Officers ride custom Harley Davidson motorcycles, permanently assigned to them.
