Every fall Johns Creek Police Community Services offers the Citizens Police Academy, for an in-depth look at JCPD operations and the policies it follows in setting a high standard for community policing.
The academy meets one night a week for nine weeks, and includes classroom instruction (criminal investigations, internal affairs, narcotics, CSI, Community Services); demonstrations (K-9, SWAT, radKIDS); and practical exercises (traffic enforcement and firearms).

"We are committed to providing quality police services for the Johns Creek community," says Sgt. Debra Kalish. "The academy is an additional way of maintaining positive communications and mutual support between police and residents, and it's a lot of fun."
Open to all Johns Creek residents ages 21 and older who successfully pass the application process and a criminal history check, the JC Citizens Police Academy is limited to 25 people. The class fills up quickly and there's usually a waiting list.
Download the application and criminal history forms here or get them at JCPD Headquarters, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
Any questions, contact Sgt. Debra Kalish in Community Services at 678-474-1587 or email .
