Geographic Information Systems can help answer questions and solve problems by looking at data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared.

The GIS Department does this by distilling data into maps, charts, and reports that make geographical relationships and patterns easy to visualize, helping guide City planning and development.

Available Maps

Several interactive (live) maps are provided that interact with the City's most recent GIS data and do not require any special GIS software. These include:

• Maps to City offices, community amenities, park facilities (Autrey Mill, Newtown, Ocee, Shakerag) and recreation, including sidewalks and trails.

• Area information with maps about Johns Creek neighborhoods, schools, zip codes and post offices.

• Today's scheduled road work or conditions that could cause traffic delays.

• A flood-hazard map developed by Georgia EPD and FEMA that shows which areas of the city are at risk for flooding.

Mobile phone versions for all of the above interactive desktop maps are also provided.

Numerous static (PDF) maps are also available for official, regulatory and historic purposes.
