ChipperThe City of Johns Creek and Keep North Fulton Beautiful invite you to recycle your old Christmas tree after the holidays at "Bring One for the Chipper," Saturday, Jan. 8.

Johns Creek residents may drop off their undecorated trees at The Home Depot at 5950 State Bridge Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To find other tree drop-off locations, visit www.keepgeorgiabeautiful.org.

Trees will be chipped into mulch by The Davey Tree Expert Company. The mulch will be used for public beautification projects and is also available free to the public upon request.

People who bring their trees for recycling can pick up free vegetable and flower seed packets courtesy of Ferry Morse seed company.

Keep Georgia Beautiful and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs join corporate sponsors The Home Depot, 11Alive, Ferry Morse, Earth 911.com, and The Davey Tree Expert Company to sponsor the statewide Christmas tree recycling program.

Since 1991, more than 5 million trees have been mulched and more than 1 million seedlings distributed as part of the "Bring One for the Chipper." Last year, more than 250,000 trees in Georgia were recycled.
