NASCAR No. 16 to spark 4th Annual Johns Creek Founders Day Parade
11/5/2010
NASCAR will rumble into the 4th Annual Johns Creek Founders Day Parade as the World Financial Group's blue No. 16 kicks off the 1.4-mile procession on Dec. 4.
A Nationwide Series car, the 2010 Ford Fusion driven by Matt Kenseth placed fifth in the Great Clips 300 Race at the Atlanta Speedway in September.
The World Financial Group headquarters is in Johns Creek.
The NASCAR racer No. 16 will join the Wienermobile, the Atlanta Braves' Heavy Hitters and Homer, floats and marching bands.
In the 2009 parade, 83 units drove, rode and marched in the parade to the delight of thousands of on-lookers. The parade is the climax of a week of festivities celebrating the founding of the City of Johns Creek on Dec. 1, 2006.
The deadline to register to be in the parade is Nov. 12 so there's still time to enter. Parade Application [PDF].
