Johns Creek City Council member Dan McCabe has been named to Georgia Trend's "40 Under 40" list for 2010.
Featured in the October issue of the magazine, the list honors Georgians under 40 years old who are making their marks on their professions, their communities and their state.
"This is the 14th year we have recognized an outstanding group of young Georgians," said Editor Susan Percy. "It's an impressive group and it's a pleasure to be able to share their stories with our readers."
The magazine received more than 300 nominations.
McCabe, 39, was influential in launching the City of Johns Creek and has served on the City Council since its start Dec. 1, 2006.
He also helped create the Findley Oaks Education Foundation, a group that raises money to supplement the Johns Creek elementary school's regular budget.
McCabe is active at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Johns Creek, and volunteers with the Susan G. Koman for the Cure, an organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer.
Professionally, McCabe is regional sales manager for OSI Oncology, a manufacturer of products for patients with cancer.
