Jones Bridge traffic relief to start soon

City to acquire some adjoining land for traffic lanes
10/1/2010

turn laneJohns Creek is planning to make some needed improvements to three intersections on Jones Bridge Road, which should speed motorists' commute on the heavily traveled roadway.

The projects, set to start construction in the Fall of 2011, will include turn lanes, sidewalks and multi-use trails at the intersections of Jones Bridge and Buice roads, Jones Bridge and Morton roads, and Jones Bridge and Waters roads.

Turn lanes generally help relieve congestion by allowing turning cars to get out of the way of traffic flow.

A traffic signal also will be installed at the Morton Road intersection, and a gap in the sidewalk between Buice and State Bridge roads will be filled in.
