Work on Old Alabama and Bell roads, bridges starts
7/9/2010
Motorists in Johns Creek will find their ride a little smoother after work crews conclude a resurfacing project on Old Alabama and Bell roads. Work on the Bell Road portion started in early July.
Drivers probably won't notice the initial work because the contractor will be under the bridges to bolster them.
The projects will require some temporary lane closures in the future.
The City is spending $2.17 million to resurface roads, construct trails and strengthen bridges on 2.3 miles of Bell Road from McGinnis Ferry to Boles roads, and 3.8 miles on Old Alabama from Medlock to Jones Bridge roads.
The trail on Rogers Circle Road will be extended another 500 feet to provide a continuous pathway along Bell Road from McGinnis Ferry to Rogers Bridge, and then out to the Chattahoochee River.
