Many bighearted members of the North Fulton community came out to play in the 2nd annual JCPD Special Olympics Golf Tournament, co-hosted by CH2M HILL and Northside Hospital, May 17, at the Standard Club in Johns Creek.
Joining in on the fun for a good cause was former Braves pitcher and National Baseball League MVP, Tom Glavine. A Johns Creek resident, Glavine came to lend support to the JCPD's fundraising efforts for the non-profit, which serves the intellectually disabled across Georgia.
Glavine said he, also, came to meet the JCPD's Special Olympics Ambassador, Ashley Lebovitz, a rising junior at Alpharetta High.
"She's a delight. Seeing her smile makes everything worthwhile. I'm just glad I could be here today to help the Johns Creek Police help Special Olympics," said Glavine.
The fundraising tournament was generously sponsored by: Riley, McClendon, LLC; iXP Corporation; Tilted Kilt; World Financial Group; CibaVision; Lowendick, Cuzdey, Ehrmann, Wagner, Stine, Sansalone and Bobe Law Firm; Rural Metro Corporation; Compelling Signs; Dermatology Center of Atlanta/Dr. Leslie Gray; Dr. Leslie S.
