Got an opinion on traffic in Johns Creek?

We'd like to hear it.
4/27/2010

trafficA consultant working with the City of Johns Creek is seeking reaction to a proposed transportation plan involving all the cities in North Fulton. Now – while it's in the early stages – is the time to make your opinions heard.

The public input session will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., May 17, on the third floor of City Hall, 12000 Findley Road.

The public input meeting in May will build on a similar get-together in January in which people discussed the City's transportation needs and problems. The consultant has taken that information, plus similar input from the other North Fulton cities, and crafted a proposed plan to address transportation issues that were identified.

Because traffic moves from city to city, Johns Creek is partnering with the other five cities in North Fulton and the Atlanta Regional Commission to take a broad approach to resolving problems with road capacity, intersection improvements, and traffic flow.

The consultant will consider public comments from similar meetings in the other cities, and revise the proposed long-range plan.

The final plan, called the Transportation Resources Implementation Program, or TRIP, also will address issues like mass transit, bicycle access, pedestrian use, safety concerns, environmental impact, and land use.
