The tournament is an 18-hole, 4-man scramble format. Registration includes green fee and cart, range balls, box lunch, buffet dinner, awards and prizes. See the Tournament Registration / Sponsorship Opportunities.

"Thanks to the generosity of the Johns Creek community, we were very successful in our fundraising last year for Special Olympics Georgia. It was our first year participating and it wouldn't have happened without our great residents and businesses," said Major John Clifton. "We hope the community can be equally generous this year."

The Torch is Special Olympics Georgia's largest fundraiser, contributing $608,040 in 2009 and more than $6 million since it began in 1986. Hundreds of Georgian law enforcement agencies voluntarily participate in the LETR, holding small fundraisers throughout the year and competing to raise the most money.

It culminates each May, when participating agencies join a 1,000 mile, two week torch relay, passing the Special Olympics Georgia "Flame of Hope" Torch across the state. The top five money-raising departments have the honor of running the torch into the State Summer Games Opening Ceremony.

The Johns Creek Police Department was the third Top LETR Fundraiser in 2009, netting $26,177.55 for the non-profit. A JCPD officer will be chosen to help carry the "Flame of Hope" at this year's ceremony, May 21 at Emory University.
