JC Council lauds Teen Leadership North Fulton graduates

The City of Johns Creek recognized the graduates of the 2010 Class of Teen Leadership North Fulton – 41 juniors and seniors from Chattahoochee High School – at a Feb. 22 graduation ceremony and reception at City Hall.

As their parents watched, each student received a Class 2010 medal and congratulations from Mayor Mike Bodker and City Council members Bev Miller, Randall Johnson, Dan McCabe, Karen Richardson, Ivan Figueroa and Liz Hausmann. The medals were inscribed with the program's key purpose: "Empowering leadership to make a positive influence."

"We are so proud of these students and grateful to them for taking on the challenge of Teen Leadership North Fulton. We certainly hope that some will eventually return here to Johns Creek following college studies to continue to contribute to our community," said Mayor Bodker. "It is these young leaders, who ultimately will make the difference for all our futures."

The leadership skills training and community service program began last fall at Chattahoochee and required the students to attend professionally led leadership skills training and Johns Creek City Council meetings. Each student also was required to volunteer at least 15 hours of community service for area non-profit organizations.

The 2010 Class of Teen Leadership North Fulton graduates are: Abiola Alade, Tim Byerly, Siri Chadalaveda, Anna Chae, Tucker Coons, Manuel Coutinho, Tiffany Dickerson, Will Elliott, Skye Estroff, Olivia Eurek, Laura Fairchild, Evan Farley, Stephen Frankiewicz, Noah Genin, Claris Halima, Penn Hansa, Rebecca Hwang, Kavitha Jagadisan, Terry Jang, James Kanceruk, Susie Kim, Kali Mayer, Mallory McCarthy, Maghna Mahadevan, John Midkiff, Latha Panchap, Lauren Pinson, Yvonne Ploder, Divya Ramaswamy, Ellie Reed, Tasjae Robinson, Micah Samter, Lisa Schwartz, Rachel Smith, Jordon Solomon, John Harley Staniforth, Asha Stann, Paul Stevenson, Camille Taylor, Midori Zarsour and Alex Yu.
