Winter weather advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Metro Atlanta, beginning at noon, Thursday, Jan. 7. The National Weather Service forecasts ½ inch to 2 inches of snow in some areas with temperatures dropping below 20° overnight/early Friday morning.

Please be watchful for ice patches while driving and walking, especially on bridges and overpasses, and shaded areas where black ice (invisible to the naked eye) may form.

Please shut off any automatic sprinkler systems that may spill water onto adjacent roadways. During winter weather, this water may freeze causing hazardous icing conditions.
