The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce presents the third annual Arts on the Creek festival Labor Day weekend Sept. 5-6 at Perimeter Church.
The free event is taking advantage of a new and larger venue, utilizing more than 200,000 SF for exhibition art, artists selling their work, sponsors, food vendors, children's entertainment and more.
Over 100 artists from as far away as Michigan and Arkansas will be selling a wide variety of original art in the Artists' Market.
The schedule includes hourly "spotlight" events throughout the weekend for kids – including Saturday's kick-off of a reptile show presented by Autry Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center. Inflatables, hands-on art projects, mobile museum exhibits and heritage storytelling are just a few of the scheduled children's activities. The Home Depot Race Car and trailer will also be on display for interactive activities and photographs for both children and adults.
Musicians and dancers will entertain on the main stage throughout the two-day event. Scheduled to perform are Daza Dance, Natch, Atlanta Jazz Syndicate, Fleetwood Dance Studio, Red, Shakespeare Studio, Jazzmatic, Jordan Humphrey and Loose Cannon.
Following Saturday's festival, Georgia Movies in the Park will feature a family movie at 8:30 p.m.
