Qualifying for 2009 City elections slated for Aug. 31 through Sept. 4
Voters go to polls Nov. 3 to elect Mayor, Council Posts 1, 3 and 5

Qualifying for the Nov. 3 City of Johns Creek elections for Mayor and City Council Post 1, Post 3 and Post 5 is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 4, between the hours of 8:30 am and 12:30 pm and 1:30 to 4:30 pm.
Qualifying takes place at Johns Creek City Hall, 12000 Findley Road, Suite 400. The qualifying fee is $450 for council seats and $750 for the Mayoral seat, which is 3 percent of the respective total gross salaries of the preceding year. Candidates must be:
- 21 years of age or older
- A City resident for at least 12 months immediately prior to the election, and
- Registered and qualified to vote.
Candidates for Mayor and City Council run at-large and are voted on by the registered voters of the entire City, not by districts or posts or any geographic designation. Johns Creek municipal elections are nonpartisan and are held without primaries. Each Council Member serves a four-year term.

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections oversees and administers the voter registration and elections process for all Fulton County residents and municipalities, including Johns Creek.
