Why learn CPR and AED:

  • According to the American Heart Association, nearly 450 Americans die each day out-of-hospital from sudden cardiac arrest (irregular electrical heart impulses cause hearts to stop beating).

  • Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anytime. Its victims often appear healthy with no known heart disease or other risk factors.

  • Effective bystander CPR and defibrillations using AEDs provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim's chance of survival.

*Johns Creek was named Georgia's first "Heart Ready City" in 2008 by the American Heart Association in recognition of the City's commitment to providing community education on heart safety. "Super CPR Saturday" is part of the City's continued community education efforts.
