The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference is returning to Johns Creek April 24-26 at Northview High School, the fifth straight year the tournament has been held in the City.

And the SELC recently awarded Johns Creek a three-year extension, ensuring the tournament will remain at Titan Stadium through 2012.

"The City of Johns Creek is thrilled to be celebrating this milestone with Northview High School and the SELC," said Bev Miller, Mayor Pro Tem and chair of the Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau. "It is exciting to have watched this event grow from its humble beginnings to one of the City's most eagerly anticipated and highest attended community events."

The SELC is a 35-team collegiate club lacrosse league based in the southeastern United States, founded in 1987 to provide organized, regional competition. The tournament consists of 12 teams in two divisions including local favorites the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech and Emory University, and from as far away as Virginia Tech and Miami.

Quarterfinal action starts on Friday evening at both Northview and Chattahoochee high schools. A youth tournament, clinics and skills competitions are planned for Saturday along with the semifinal games in both divisions. Sunday will feature the championship games in both divisions and the two winners will advance to the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association national tournament in Denver in May.
