Law Enforcement Torch RunJohns Creek Police will join 1,000 other Georgia law enforcement agencies this May in the annual "Law Enforcement Torch Run" for Special Olympics Georgia.

In conjunction with the run, the JCPD will host two fundraisers for the non-profit that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition programming for more than 22,000 Georgians with intellectual disabilities:

  1. In the spirit of the Run's traditional "Cops on Shop" sit-ins at Krispy Kreme stores, members of the JCPD will take to the roof of Garrison's Broiler & Tap from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3, to collect donations from customers as they eat, sleep and play on the rooftop 'round the clock.

  2. On May 18, the JCPD will host a Special Olympics Golf Tournament at the Standard Club. See the Tournament Registration / Sponsorship Opportunities.

All funds raised at both events go directly to Special Olympics Georgia. The seventh annual "Law Enforcement Torch Run" culminates with a 1,000-mile, two-week relay to pass the "Flame of Hope" torch for the State Summer Games Opening Ceremony May 29-31.
