Opening Ceremony officially launches Fire Department

Residents join in welcome to first responders

The 78 dedicated firefighting professionals of the new Johns Creek Fire Department were welcomed to the community at a public ceremony October 11 at Fire Station #1.

Family members and long-time supporters joined elected officials and fire association representatives from across Metro Atlanta to recognize the new force of men and women who are now providing fire protection and emergency response services to the City's residents, businesses and visitors.

Fire Chief Joseph Daniels stated it was each firefighter's duty "to provide the highest level of life safety and fire protection services to safeguard the lives, property and environment of the Johns Creek community."

Expressing the Council's appreciation for each Firefighter's dedicated service in the years to come, Mayor Mike Bodker thanked them for their courage, bravery and honor.
