South Daytona sweeps Southeast Regional

The team from South Daytona, FL emerged victorious in the 2008 Southeast Regional 12U/60 Cal Ripken baseball tournament, earning a trip to the World Series in Martin, TN with a 9-5 victory over Sandhills, NC Monday night at Ocee Park.
The win culminated six days of action involving teams from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. South Daytona swept through the tournament undefeated, outscoring opponents 32-10 in compiling a 4-0 record.
Host Ocee Park saw its outstanding season come to an early end in the tournament, falling to Tallahassee Winthrop, FL 2-0 and Sandhills 13-2.
