Girl Scouts to hold flag retirement ceremony June 14

The Girl Scouts of Johns Creek will hold a Flag Retirement Ceremony in the parking lot of Ace Hardware, 10955 Jones Bridge Road at the intersection of State Bridge Road, on Saturday, June 14 from 10 to 10:30 am.
The United States Flag Code states: "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."
Girl and Boy Scout troops are among the organizations that routinely hold such ceremonies to retire the Stars and Stripes with proper honor and dignity.
Anyone wishing to have their flag retired can drop it off at Ace anytime during the week or the morning of the ceremony.
