Budding Major Leaguers can test out their skills on April 20 as the City of Johns Creek Recreation and Parks Division hosts a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Ocee Park starting at 1:30 pm.
Boys and girls compete together in four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group advance to the Sectional Level. From there they have a chance to move on to Team Championships at Major League ballparks such as Atlanta's Turner Field. This year's National Finals take place at the 2008 MLB All-Star Game on July 15 in historic Yankee Stadium.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of competition. Contact the Recreation and Parks Division, 678-512-3200 for more information.
