But conservation efforts to continue
12/5/2007

water dropThe Fulton County Public Works Department reported December 5 that water use in Fulton County is down 20% from this same time last year, exceeding the 10% reduction mandated by Gov. Perdue November 1. The November 2007 usage report totaled an average daily flow of 19.42 million gallons per day (MGD) compared to a daily flow of 24.39 MGD in November 2006.

The County, which provides water to Johns Creek, adopted a 3-phase plan on Nov. 15 in order to comply with Perdue's mandate. The successful progress, to date, of homeowners and businesses will continue to be monitored, with another usage report set for December 31.

Fulton County Public Works will initiate Phase III (water price hike) only if the usage reports indicate an emergency need to implement them. For more information about water conservation measures, call Jennifer McLaurin at 404-612-8745.
