7/27/2007
The fun begins Saturday August 25 when the 5th annual Chattahoochee River Summer Festival returns to Johns Creek.
Set in the National Park Services' Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center off Barnwell Road (approximately 1.6 miles north of Holcomb Bridge Road) the goal of the Festival is to celebrate health and vitality.
Canoeing, kayaking, music, storytelling, crafts and Spirit Rock painting are just a few of the highlights of this popular family outdoor weekend-long event set against the beautiful backdrop of the Chattahoochee. Native American demonstrations will be held by Kris Kelly and Diamond Brown and the artistic work of blacksmith Michael Leggett will be on display. Hike on a fitness trail and receive a free festival T-shirt.
The Festival runs from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, August 26.
