Hard-hitting football action comes to Johns Creek this Saturday, July 21, as the Georgia Generals take to the field at Northview High School for their North American Football League home opener against the Charleston (SC) Golden Knights.

Mayor Mike Bodker will be on hand to welcome the home team during pre-game ceremonies.

"Johns Creek is delighted to welcome the Generals and the NAFL to our city and Northview High School," Bodker said. "We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship."

Team officials say the Generals, the newest member of the NAFL's Division I, intend to offer "quality entertainment at a price that most any family budget can afford." With ticket prices starting at $8 for adults, families can enjoy an evening out that includes pregame festivities, a petting zoo and half time and postgame concerts – Vanguard Records artist Edwin McGain will be featured at the home opener – all in addition to all the on-field action.

The Generals defeated the Augusta Ragin' Bulls 23-21 in their inaugural game.

Founded in 1996, The NAFL is the nation's largest adult amateur football league and maintains over 192 teams in 32 divisions nationwide. Yearly, numerous NAFL players are offered the opportunity to tryout and join teams from the American Arena Leagues, the Canadian Football League, NFL Europe, and the National Football League.

Gates open at 5 pm with kickoff at 7. Tickets can be purchased through ticketmaster.com or at Publix. All children 12 and under wearing a football jersey get in for free. For more information about the Generals visit www.georgiageneralsfootball.com or call 678-218-1789.
