Emergency water ordinance adopted

Outdoor restrictions enforced

watering hoseThe City adopted an emergency water shortage ordinance June 28, which establishes procedures for enforcing and adopting Fulton County's outdoor watering restrictions, as follows:

  • Outdoor watering is limited to Saturday or Sunday between midnight and 10 am.

    - If your home address is even-numbered, water on Saturday.
    - If your home address is odd-numbered, water on Sunday.

  • All other outdoor watering is banneduntil further notice.

  • Exceptions: businesses such as car washes and nurseries, and establishing newly installed landscape and/or sod (30 days maximum).

The emergency ordinance also authorizes and empowers the City's Code Enforcement officers and Fulton County Police officers and firefighters to enforce the restrictions through citations.

First time violations result in a written warning; second time, a fine of $250; and third time, a civil penalty of $500.
