Grand celebration:
City Hall officially opens

The new Johns Creek City Hall at 12000 Findley Road was officially opened June 11 in an afternoon ceremony featuring local youth and dignitaries from across north Fulton.
The Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North Youth Orchestra, soloist Cory Bucsko, a '07 grad of Chattahoochee High, the Northview High Jr. ROTC Color Guard, Brownies and art students from area schools all participated.

Rep. Mark Burkhalter presented Governor Perdue's Commendation, which said the new City Hall "is a significant recognition of the hundreds of dedicated citizens of Johns Creek, Georgia, whose volunteer grass roots movement led to the incorporation of the state's 10th largest city."
Mayor Mike Bodker, Sen. Dan Moody, Fulton County Commissioner Lynne Riley and Johns Creek City Council Members Randall Johnson, Dan McCabe, Karen Richardson, Ivan Figueroa, Liz Hausmann and Bev Miller participated in the Ceremony, along with representatives from Autrey Mill Nature Preserve & Heritage Center, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Citizens of Newtown, Johns Creek Community Association and the Ocee Arts Center.
Special guests were Rep. Jan Jones, Rep. Harry Geisinger, Milton Mayor Joe Lockwood, Milton Council Members Karen Thurman and Julie Zahner Bailey, Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos, Sandy Springs Council Member Dianne Fries, Forsyth County Commissioner Charlie Laughinghouse and Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce President Brandon Beach.
