Emory Johns Creek Hospital opens

2/5/2007

Emory-Johns CreekWorld class medical care arrived in Johns Creek Feb. 5 with the opening of Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

The arrival of the highly anticipated, state-of-the-art facility ended an eight-year process to bring much needed medical care to northeast Fulton, southern Forsyth and western Gwinnett counties. It was a process which began with the development of Tech Park/Johns Creek's master planned community.

"There was always a desire to bring a corporate community servant here – a university or a hospital – something that would bring a benefit to the entire community. We are very excited that in the end it was Emory that became a part of our community," said Tech Park/Johns Creek Vice President Jim Warren.

The 282,000 square foot hospital – situated on 68 acres in the heart of Johns Creek at 6325 West Johns Crossing – will employ approximately 600 staff and an estimated medical staff of 400 to care for patients in seven operating rooms and 110 private rooms, with hotel-style service.
